Pipe tomahawk head with classic mid-18th century form. Nearly identical example is plate 115 in "American Indian Tomahawks" by Harold L. Peterson, 1965. Hand forged iron head has a large teardrop eye, steel edge with bulbous bowl with beveled molding at base of blade. Measures 8 - 1/2" overall with a 4 - 3/4" blade with a crescent cutting edge measuring 3". CONDITION: Corroded surface that has been cleaned. Nice early example. BRM.
