The Chevrolet Bel Air was produced in the United States from 1950 until 1975. Initially, it was offered as Chevy’s only 2-door coupe. In 1953 the Bel Air was changed from a body design to a hi-end trim level. The revolutionary new style was designed to replicate a convertible but with a non-detachable solid roof.Available in 1953 is models 150 and 210, the Bel Air was advertised as “Entirely new, through and through.” While maintaining similar frames and mechanicals of the earlier models, new body panels were styled as well as front and rear sheet metal. In 1954 Bel Airs were available in convertible, hardtop coupe, two and four door sedans as well as the Beauville station wagon, which appeared in “Woody” trim. Available powertrain options were the 215.5 cu in 92 hp and 235.5 “Blue Flame” 125 hp engines as well as 3 speed manual and 2 speed powerglide transmissions.Presented is a recently restored 1954 Chevy Bel Air. Its two-tone color is accented with continental kit, added chrome trim and 15 inch wheels with period correct Coker tires. Sound is provided through an aftermarket stereo, iPod, mp3 and CD player mounted in the glove Box. Power is from the “Blue Flame” 125 hp six cylinder engine and two speed automatic transmission. The Bel Air has been lowered to improve handling.
