The Ford Ranchero was a coupe utility truck built between 1957 and 1979. Unlike a pick up truck, the Ranchero was adapted from a two-door station wagon that integrated the cargo bed into the body. It was adapted from full-size, compact, and intermediate automobiles. In 1972, a radical design change occurred in the Torino and Ranchero lines. The sleek, pointed look of the previous model was replace with a larger, heavier design. Most noticeable was the wide semi oval grille and new body-on-frame design. Ford produced three versions of the Ranchero; standard 500, Squire with simulated wood grain along the flanks, and the sporty GT. Engine choices were the 250 cu in 6 cylinder, 302 cu in V8, 351 Cleveland V8, 400 cu in V8, and 460 cu in V8. A four-speed manual transmission was available on Cobra-Jet powered GT models.Presented is a 1974 Ranchero Squire. With 351 Cleveland Engine and Automatic transmission, the Ranchero has plenty of power and torque. In Beautiful Burgundy Red with white interior, the simulated wood grain adds to the feel of a time gone by. Fully equipped with power steering, power windows and brakes, the Ranchero has just been PA State inspected and is ready to go. Included are original factory wheels and numerous original parts. The Ranchero Squire is a fun “hybrid” with both muscle and utility.• 351 Cleveland V8• Automatic Transmission• Recently Restored• 351 Cleveland V8• Automatic Transmission• Recently Restored
