Mills Novelty Co. began production of this arcade machine in 1902. Electricity was believed by some to have healing powers, and Mills Novelty Co. took advantage of this idea and created several shocking devices. The exceptional front original casting features a pretty girl. The headline says "Take a Shock and Look Pleasant", mounted on a wonderful wood and cast-iron copper-flashed base for even more appeal. The wooden case is in original condition with very minor wear throughout. The round ended handles on both sides allow the user to determine how much electricity is administered. Original glass dial and lower glass panel have some flaking evident, but do not distract from the overall original feel of this piece. "Electric Treatment / For One Night Jags". Untested and with keys.
