This Mills Novelty "Liberty Bell" is as scarce as they come. A conservatively restored cast-iron early slot machine, one of three of the various ornate machines Mills manufactured during the earlier part of the 20th century. However, here is what makes this machine so special, an original side vendor mounted on the left side of the slot. Liberty Bell slots with side vendors are scarce enough, but one with the side vendor on the left side is currently a very exclusive club. The machine retains the earlier style tin fruit strips with an original marquee indicating winning combinations. These early machines always utilized the early round pin mechanisms and upon winning, a bell would ring and coins would rush into the payout cup. Overall a beautiful example of an early elaborate cast iron slot machine with side panels overlooking the Hudson River and the Statue of Liberty off in the distance. c. 1911. Includes key.
