Completely original German doll from the late 19th century, with blue glass inset eyes, an open/close mouth with molded tiny upper teeth but no actual opening between the lips, a flat solid dome head with two holes, allowing string to the rest of the body. The body still maintains the original stringing and the body itself is a fully-jointed wood and composition child body with separate ball joints at the shoulders, hips, knees and elbows. It has straight wrists with cupped hands. The body finish is original and in overall very good condition. The doll has no markings itself, but is German made in the style of a French doll of the period. She has very pale bisque other than rosy cheeks. It has the original sheepskin wig, although somewhat moth-eaten on the front bang area, the clothing is completely original, with the long baby dress with long wool undergarments and crocheted booties. The original cotton and lace bonnet is very nice, with inset blue ribbon with bow on top, extending to allow it to tie underneath the chin. There appears to be a miniscule eye flake in the outer corner of the right eye, almost indistinguishable, but nevertheless present.

Condition: (Excellent).

Item Dimensions: 27" x 8" x 4".
ALL ORIGINAL "BELTON"-TYPE BISQUE HEAD DOLL.
