Circa mid-19th century. 8 - 1/16" Heavy clip point blade with sharpened false edge, unknown cataloging number K032 inked on reverse. Full tang construction with iron guard and pommels, walnut scales with silver inlays of the letter "B" and a 5-pointed star on both sides. 12 - 7/8". No sheath. A well-built knife likely made to order by a gunsmith or other skilled tradesman; the inlays having perhaps a masonic or other fraternal association. CONDITION: Blade exhibits a gray patina with scattered freckling and dark spots. Light edge wear. Wood grips have darkened and exhibit handling wear with scattered small dents and chips. Grips and embellishments remain secure. A nice knife with great patina.
