Circa 1920-1930 Sioux woman's dress. Made of Indian tanned buckskin, dress exhibits entirely fringed panels across the front sleeves and bottom hem. Dress is possibly part of Elk Society of some kind. 2-sided beaded designs include morning stars, elk raising 1 leg into a circle with a dance hoop attached to their hooves, possible family emblems enclosed within 2 geometric slid beaded panels. Colors include red, green, orange, dark blue, powder blue, white, yellow, and faceted indigo and green. Measures 52" long, 24" across the shoulders, with 17" sleeves. CONDITION: Minor bead loss with small repair to fringe of one cuff. A few noted smaller hide patches from period wear. Includes wood and foam display hanger. BRM.
