c. 1810. The handle is 2 - 1/8" high and 1 - 5/8" in diameter. A scalloped shell decoration is carved on the top. There is a 1/4" thin silver collar, silver eyelets and silver mounts where the sword withdraws. The shaft is one step malacca with a 3" lined brass ferrule. The triangular small sword blade is 26 - 1/2" long. Curt Stein in his book "Canes and Walking Sticks" describes the small sword cane as follows: "among the rarest of sword canes are those with the so called 'small sword' blade". The overall length is 34 - 1/2" and it is in very good condition. Most likely American.
