This lot consists of a violet colored Tanzanite, diamond and platinum ring, size 8. The ring has a total dwt of 4.9 and is stamped with the following on the interior of the band: "Orianne PT950 TA6.73ct D0.77ct." This ring is accompanied by two reports, a GIA Identification Report and an AIG Gem Laboratory report. The GIA Identification Report (GIA Report 1166949012) is dated January 2015. This report noted that the Tanzanite is approximately 6.73 carats with the following measurements: 12.03 x 11.97 x 6.99 mm. The Tanzanite is triangular in shape and is a modified brilliant cut that is transparent. The sole comment on the Tanzanite from GIA is that they are not completely positive that this Tanzanite was heated to have the color changed to the beautiful violet color. The AIG report (Trace No. RN020391 and Appraisal No. 000716139038), dated May 2016, was originally meant as an estimate retail value appraisal. This report notes that the Tanzanite is a type I stone, which means that those gemstones do not usually have inclusions, according to AIG. There are approximately 31 round brilliant diamonds that have an approximate weight of 0.77 points. These diamonds were graded in the setting to have a clarity range from VS1 to VS2 with a color range from F to H. AIG notes that the ring has a weight of 7.68 gm. Overall the piece is in good condition with normal wear present.
