This lot consists of a platinum, ruby and diamond ring, size 7-3/4. The ring has a total dwt of 5.2. A halo of diamonds surrounds the oval ruby, while some diamonds continue down the shank of the ring. The following is stamped onto the interior of the band: "A.I. PT950 RU1.22ct D0.31ct." This ring is accompanied by a GIA Ruby Report (GIA Report: 5172582348) and an AIG Gem Laboratory Report (Trace No. RN021280 and Appraisal No. 000717016058). The GIA Ruby Report, dated May 2016, notes that the ruby is an oval shape and has a combination of brilliant and step cut. This ruby is a natural corundum and natural ruby with red coloring. When the stone was loose, it measured 1.22 carats and had the following measurements: 8.06 x 6.78 x 2.25 mm. The AIG Gem Laboratory report, which was originally intended for the use of an estimate retail value report, is dated January 2017. This report notes that the ruby is a type II gemstone with approximately 52 round brilliant diamonds present on the ring. The diamonds have an approximate weight of 0.31 carats, with VS1 to SI1 clarity and D to F color- please note that the diamonds were graded in the setting. The total weight of the ring is 8.20 gm. Overall the piece is in good condition with normal wear present.
