Late 19th to early 20th century, North Persia. The rug with rows of tarantula medallions in ivory and pale turquoise alternating with floral rosettes and polychrome stars on a madder red ground. All within a dark indigo main border of cloud bands and floral trellis work within guard boarders of dense flower heads. The rug is 9' 3" X 11' 6". Overall even wear with soft palette; no staining, brittleness or repairs.
