Second half 19th century, Continental. The molded cornice carved with swags and masques in the frieze above three molded glass panel doors. The center most with a carved lower panel depicting a tavern scene of several figures at table with tankards of ale. The outer doors, each with carved lower panel depicting figures at cards and games of chance. The doors alternating with heavily carved pilasters, each carved with the figure of a musician standing on a corbel and the bust of a putti or cherub above a flattened foliate column with floral rosettes, each supported by mythical male and female figures. The whole on a molded base raised on suppressed ball feet terminating in casters. Bookcase stands 99" tall. It retains the original surface with good rich patina. One of the supporting lower figures is absent. Note: The wood surface behind these figures is finished, allowing the removal of the second figure if so desired, which would retain a symmetrical balance.

This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made.

Item Dimensions: 99" x 91" x 27".
