Circa early 20th Century British serge patrol dress jacket. The jacket features major rank insignia on the epaulettes as well as a neatly sewn ribbon bar with 3 awards. The ribbons in order from left to right are the Distinguished Service Order, King George V Coronation Medal, and the Queen’s Mediterranean Medal. This would indicate service from the early 1900s through at least 1911, as this is when the King George V Coronation Medal was established. The uniform is in standard configuration and features 5 early domed Royal Artillery buttons which enclose the center of the jacket. The jacket is named on a piece of cloth which is stitched inside the high collar. The ink writing appears to read "WGH Major RA" but is partly illegible. An unmarked brown belt with sword hanger accompanies the jacket. CONDITION: The jacket is very clean with no major evidence of mothing or scuffs. Lining is intact with no rips. All original buttons are present. Belt remains supple with minor blemishes. Overall very good.
