March 10 & 11, 2020 Toy, Doll & Figural Cast Iron
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/11/2020
This socket head lightly stamped in red "Tete Jumeau" and an incised mark "10". She has lovely blue-grey paperweight eyes, a closed slightly smiling mouth with shaded lips, pierced ears and well painted and evenly matched brows. She is on the original fully-jointed French wooden composition body (unmarked), with mostly original finish, slight paint lifting in places and wear around the knees. She wears a reproduction Jemeau floral print chamise, a honey-blonde human hair wig over original cork pate and replaced black patent leather-type shoes. She is 22". CONDITION: Overall very good, however some strange marks around the open crown with some burst bubbles, a small firing split in the rim itself, and then on the right side just parallel to where the head is actually cut, another strange firing line only on the outside which does not go all the way through the head. It is not a crack, however it is something that needs to be evaluated to determine how one feels about this strange mark made in the firing only.
Item Dimensions: 22 - 1/2" x 10" x 7".
