Coin silver presentation trumpet from New York City. Beautifully engraved, early fireman's horn. Presentation reads "Presented by Protection Fire Engine Co. No. 5 to David J. Camfield, Foreman. A token of the esteem & respect for the faithful & impartial performance of duty. July 19th, 1853". This is an important piece from the volunteer Fire Department of New York. On the reverse of the trumpet is a beautifully rendered spread eagle over a Smith style fire engine and the motto "Semper Paratus:" (Always Ready). Very fine condition with one small ding. 25 toz.
