This trimmer is on a wood base with brass and steel fittings. It has an unusual card slide bar mechanism. The wood handle has a carved ivory tip. Maker mark reads "Dufilho / New Orleans". Alfred H. Dufilho was a New Orleans knife maker that made knives for Confederate soldiers during the Civil War. The only one known.
