This is an early antique Broomhandle manufactured in 1898. This is a standard cone hammer Model 1896 self-loading pistol. It is chambered for the 7.63mm Mauser cartridge, has a 5.5" barrel, rear adjustable 50 to 500 rear sight, 23 groove walnut stock, lanyard ring, factory finish, and standard cone hammer found only on early examples. It has Mauser-Oberndorf on top barrel flat. Back of hammer is stamped "1734". Gun retains 75% original factory blue blending with smooth brown patina, with a 1/2" area of salt and pepper pitting on the left front of magazine well. Grips are mint. Bore is clean. Action is perfect. Comes with an original Broomhandle holster/stock No. 431.
