Scarce SNY (State of New York) waistbelt plate. Thin letter style with lead fill back, two oval studs and hook (“puppy paw” style). A nice early war plate issued by the state to some of its volunteer regiments for field service. Not the arrow-back National Guard version that largely stayed in-state. No find location noted. CONDITION: Very good excavated condition. Full rim and crisp die strike. Even brown tone with one lighter spot and scattered light green. One scratch bottom of the Y. Good lead fill on reverse. SR
