18" earliest Bru period Bebe incised "2" on back of head, with extremely pale bisque, nicely contrasted rouge cheeks and chin, mauve shading above the eyes, painted lashes and brows, pierced earlobes with head swiveling on a separate, flat bisque shoulder plate mounted to the original white kid body with gusset joints at the hips and knees with lovely bisque forearms with well-defined fingers and fingernails. She is dressed in a faded pink silk and lace dress - at least of the period, if not original - with remnants of a sheepskin wig over cork pate with a very nice period blonde mohair wig - again of the period - to cover the sheepskin wig skin only. The wire framed bonnet is well coordinated with the dress and she has lovely white leather round toed shoes with silk rosettes and well-marked on the sole "5" and "Bru Jne Paris" in an oval. CONDITION: Although extremely pretty, there is a very short, faint hairline in the top center of head, extending only about 1/2" or so, and beyond that, the plaster from the eyes covers the remainder of the head and appears to not go any further. The left arm is slightly paler than the right, which leads one to believe that perhaps there was some minor restoration, and indeed the center finger on the right hand is slightly wider than the remainder of the fingers on this hand or the other; hence, that has probably been restored, with slight overpaint extending onto other fingers that are actually not damaged. In addition, on the left eye's lower eye rim, there is a tiny indentation, probably made in the making, and is outlined in black, however is likely a tiny chip in the making or an imperfection due to a slip when the eye was cut out. Very minor, but present.

Item Dimensions: 21" x 7 - 1/2" x 6".
EXCEPTIONALLY PRETTY BRU BREVETE BEBE.
