This exceedingly rare and exceptional c. 1896 ceramic dispenser from Coca-Cola was the very first dispenser produced to serve the now iconic fountain drink. This dispenser was made by The Wheeling Pottery Company, with both the base and the bowl of the dispenser being stamped with the manufacturer name. This dispenser retains its original spigot, as well as the exceedingly rare lid. Complete examples like this one do not come to market very often. CONDITION: This dispenser remains in excellent condition, with the ceramic retaining a bright white color. A few isolated areas of the bowl show some very light browning, which was caused by exposure to Coca-Cola syrup. The glaze shows a wonderful crazing pattern throughout. The Coca-Cola logo retains a nice early red with gold outline on both sides. The backside of the base shows ornate scroll work and wording "Delicious and Exhilarating" and "Refreshing and Invigorating." There is no ceramic loss or cracks to be found on this example.
