Archival framed and matted handwritten letter by Theodore Roosevelt. Site 10" x 7 3/4". Framed with an image of Roosevelt in buckskins with a Winchester across his lap. Overall 24 1/2" x 15". Letter is dated April 20, 1888 on Sagamore Hill, Oyster Bay letterhead. Letter is addressed to Alden Sampson, New York, a fellow hunter and outdoorsmen. Roosevelt describes how to set up a hunt and recommends as a guide John Willis in Montana. Roosevelt also talks about the animals he has yet to kill and asks for advise as to where he could get one of these animals. Rare letter describing TR's hunting in the West. CONDITION: Excellent.
