March 10 & 11, 2020 Toy, Doll & Figural Cast Iron
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/11/2020
Lovely French fashion with red check marks and artist's signature on back of head, typical of those found on Jumeau fashion dolls from the early 1890's. She stands 16" tall and has a swivel head on a separate bisque shoulder, with stunning bulbous pale blue paperweight eyes, a shaded closed red mouth, well done lashes and brows, pierced earlobes, with head and shoulder mounted to a firm white kid body with gusset joints at elbows, hips and knees and individually stitched fingers. She wears a two-piece printed cotton dress, which appears to be of the period, as well as a white cotton blouse, antique underwear, very nice blue antique leather boots, a blonde mohair wig over cork pate and a wide brim straw hat. CONDITION: Overall, the condition of the body is very good and the head is as well, although typical of this period, the facial features have a more highlighted, rosier tint than similar dolls from the 1870's and 1890's.
Condition: (Very Good).
Item Dimensions: 15 - 1/2" x 7" x 6".
