Late 18th to early 19th century. China. Of rectangular form with canted corners, the top with ogee-molded sides opening to an interior elaborately fitted with seven richly gilt-covered lacquer game piece boxes and eight gilt-lacquer card trays. The whole supported on four carved giltwood feet in the form of Fu Dogs. The elaborate dense gilding with a central cartouche depicting a pavilion scene within a border of celestial dragons. The box sides are each with a decorated cartouche in the center, depicting pavilion scenes. Very good overall condition. Areas with minor losses to gilt at the corners, minimal in nature. Structurally fine overall.
