Late 19th - early 20th century, France. The round bottom birdcage with molded brass frieze decorated with a foliate band. This example features a pair of birds, one on a brass perch disguised with leafy sprigs. When activated, each bird sings independently, while their tails and heads move. Birdcage is accompanied by a winder. Automaton and music box are operable. Bird feathers with fading and discoloration. Overall good condition.
