Very attractive closed mouth bebe, with threaded pale blue glass eyes, closed mouth with white space between the lips, pierced in earlobes, solid dome head with flat surface on top with three stringing holes and strung thought holes on to the original body, consisting of wood and composition with separate ball joints at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, and straight wrists. Incised "17" on the back of the head, very faintly. She has been elaborately costumed, probably by the previous owner, in a two piece lavender silk pleated dress, with lace trim and large ribbon bustle in back. The shoes are newer black leather replacements, however, she wears an antique honey colored human hair wig with center part, which is covered by a nice straw bonnet with lace and lavender silk ribbons attached to match the costume. Body finish is mostly original. Doll dates from about 1890 and is 16" tall.

Condition: (Very Good).

Item Dimensions: 16" T.
FRENCH TYPE "BELTON" DOLL.
