German WWII Luftwaffe M42 single decal helmet marked "ckl64" (faint) for the maker of "Eisenhuttenwerke Thale", in a shell size of 66, with a lot number of "2823". Shell retains 65-70% of its original rough blue-gray paint, with scrapes, paint (thin red streaks on front), freckling, and dirt. Interior retains approximately 50% of its blue-gray finish, with the remaining areas freckled (heavy in the crown) and dirty. It appears the inner skirt has a light coat of varnish. Luftwaffe decal is in approximately 65% (details are faint and worn). Original zinc liner band is present, has been bent away from the shell on the right side a long time ago, is since undisturbed, and with untouched rivets. Original liner is present with heavy wear, fraying and damage (all tongues are present), was partially sliced on the rear (appears to have been era done to possibly enlarge the liner) in a medium tan color with heavy staining. Drawstring is missing. Original chinstrap is present, marked "gxy42", with steel fittings, and moderate wear. CONDITION: Overall good to very good. WEZ
