IDENTIFIED US KOREAN WAR 82ND AIRBORNE FOOTLOCKER UNIFORM GROUPING.

Very nice untouched Korean War 82nd Airborne Division uniform grouping which is contained in the original footlocker. The grouping is identified to Dale Snider, who served in the post-WWII era and through the Korean War with the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division. The grouping includes various uniform pieces and appears to be as left by Snider after he was discharged from the Army. There are 2 pairs of US Army long underwear, pants and shirt, 2 pairs of Army boxer shorts, 1 fatigue cap, 2 OD ties, and 3 overseas caps with garrison cap patches (2 khaki, 1 OD). There are also 7 shirts in total, with 3 being the earlier wool shirts and 4 khaki shirts. The wool shirts are all nicely folded and are correctly patched, featuring WWII-immediate post-WWII no glow 82nd Airborne patches, as well as rank stripes including 1 shirt with 2" wide Korean War private combat rank insignia (1948-51) and 2 shirts with Korean War 3" wide corporal blued chevrons. 3 of the khaki shirts feature WWII-immediate post-WWII no glow 82nd Airborne patches, as well as 1951-1955 staff sergeant chevrons. There is also 1 pair of wool trousers, dated Dec. 20, 1945. Finally, there are 2 Ike jackets, One is tailor made and features staff sergeant stripes and an 82nd Airborne patch on the shoulder. The other is dated 6 Apr. 1950 and features a no glow 82nd Airborne patch, staff sergeant stripes, domed collar discs, and green tab leadership epaulettes with clutch back 504th PIR DIs. Most, if not all, uniform pieces are stamped with Snider's laundry number "S-8310". The group is complete with a piece of notebook paper which inventories the contents as well as Snider's name and states he was at Fort Bragg. CONDITION: Most uniform pieces exhibit stains from storage. Interior of the trunk is stained and exhibits paint loss and surface rust on the exterior. Slight odor from storage. Overall good.
