Late 19th century. Operated by live steam. American style with cow catcher. Includes engine tender combination piece in original wooden box with lid and two paper on cardboard passenger cars with tin roofs (one yellow US Mail baggage car and one blue pullman car). Also includes seven pieces of original difficult-to-find wooden track along with an original box for the track and passenger cars. Both boxes have nice paper labels but there is some pencil writing and staining to larger box. Passenger cars have some paint loss and scratching to roofs. Engine has nice stenciling on both sides of cab and extended tender with just very light wear. Almost impossible to find the set complete (with boxes and track).
