Mid-19th century. England. Cabinet is in two parts, the upper case with swan's neck molded pediment centering an urn above a pair of astragal-glazed glass panel doors. The interior is fitted with three adjustable shelves, each with rose silk inserts. The conforming sides are astragal-glazed. Lower case has a concealed frieze drawer above a pair of cupboard doors opening to an interior fitted with three long drawers, the whole raised on a shaped molded base. This beautifully constructed cabinet is constructed of Yew, Rosewood, Kingwood and Mahogany, with Oak and Beech as secondary woods. This cabinet is original, in structurally very good condition, and with a rich patina. The shaped and scrolled mullions are intact and the glass panels are original. Crossbanding is dry with multiple losses on cabinet.
