A very nice example of a World War II Japanese chest or desk. There are traces of a US soldier's address on the top portion which is mostly illegible with the exception of faint "PHEONIXVILLE, PA". The inside of the desk is stenciled "I.W. ALLOTT". Complete with canvas covered rope handles and Japanese specification paper contained inside. Back is painted "I.W.A. IOH"? CONDITION: Generous amount of original green paint with nice lettering to front. Canvas carry straps are worn but sturdy, though leather straps are cracked and brittle. Evident areas of surface rust and oxidation to metal components with a pleasant field used patina.
