24" classic pretty "Figure A" child, with head fully marked "J. Steiner F I r e A 17". This closed mouth child has a shy expression, with blue-gray glass eyes, nicely painted lashes, and evenly arches eyebrows, and is mounted to the original Steiner composition body with straight wrists, fully articulated, and bearing a paper label on the torso of the French child carrying the flag. In addition she also has Mama Papa pull strings. The costume is a re-creation, with pleated lavender and lace overlay, with well-coordinated and matched bonnet made at the same time. The mohair appears to be original, however, she is lacking the original Steiner pate. Original patina to the finish, with perhaps one remade finger, and slight touch-up on the hands.
