1859 edition, New York. Birds of America J. Bien Edition. This hand-colored chromolithograph is a fine illustration of a pair of ducks in a marsh setting. Housed in a gold and silver gilt molded frame, matted and under glass. Size of image: 20-3/4" x 29-1/2". Matt size: 26-3/4" x 35". Overall size: 29" x 37-3/4". Not examined out of frame. There is a 2-1/2" tear, right side facing, above dusk's tail and a 1" tear on margin left side facing at tip of wing. Otherwise good. Overall toning, notably in margins and sky.
