A beautifully preserved engraved by N. Dakim steel plate portrait print of Captain Robert Manners, a British military hero, based from an original oil painting by Joshua Reynolds, c. 1782. The engraving is in a Romantic vein, with the youthful, aristocratic and brave Captain Manners posing for his portrait, while his ship in the sea is visible on the background. This gorgeous engraved print is nicely framed in a newer style frame behind the glass. The words on the bottom name Joshua Reynolds, Captain Manners, and engraver N. Dakim. It is in great condition commensurate with age, with minor crazing at the lower bottom and few finish chips to the frame. Image sight measures 27 - 1/8" tall and 16 - 1/2" wide.
