Comprising: (A) 18th century powder horn, measuring about 14" overall. The main body has a scalloped top edge and is engraved with scenes including a mill, a cannon, a person carrying a rifle, a Liberty Tree, a bird, a chicken above an eagle on what appears to be a flag, a large 3-masted ship of war, a British lion, a bugler, and a drummer with a mitre cap on his head. There are some other folky motifs above the plug. The wooden plug has an iron nail in the center for sling attachment. CONDITION: Horn shows some wear and a couple minor areas of insect damage which have been filled. There is some chipping at base around plug and some heavy wear from carrying. (B) A hunting bag with horn. Bag measures about 12" x 8-3/8" and has a leather carrying strap. Complete with an associated powder horn measuring 9" overall. CONDITION: Flap shows a tear and some losses. Leather is brittle. Horn very good, showing some crazing from age. DMG
