First is a c. 1888 gold filled Tau handle walking stick cane on snakewood shaft, inscribed: "F. A. Palmer Dec 25, 1888". Snakewood is very rare and found only in Guyana in northeast South America. It is prized among can collectors. It is considered the aristocrat of shaft materials. The handle is 3 - 5/8" long and 2" high with ornate "C" scroll designs on the handle. Mounted on a snakewood shaft with 1 - 1/2" metal ferrule. The overall length is 35 - 1/2". The condition is excellent. The second is an ornate gold filled knob walking stick cane, engraved "SBM". Ornate design with three flat panels and three other panels in "C" scrolls. There is a maker mark "T V & D". The handle is 2" long and 1 - 1/8" across the top. Mounted on an ebony shaft with a 1 - 1/2" metal ferrule. The overall length is 35 - 1/2". The condition is good.

Condition: (Good - Excellent).
