This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/11/2020
The slightly larger of the two, 17", is an unmarked Jumeau child with open mouth and four upper teeth, blue-grey paperweight eyes, well painted and evenly matched eyebrows, tiny eyelashes and head unmarked. She is on the original fully-jointed wooden composition French body with a blue stamp on back torso "Bebe Jumeau Diplome D'honneur." Body retains mostly original finish with some typical age wear to paint, especially on fingers. She has a black human hair wig, appropriately dressed in white dress with embroidery and lace and wears old white leather boots (deteriorating). The smaller of the two is 15" and is incised on the back of the head "Bru. J. Ne 8 23". This is the latest version of the so-called "Nursing Bru" with blue glass sleep eyes and oval-shaped open mouth to accommodate baby bottle, with a hole in the back of the head in which at one time there was a mechanism attached to allow the nursing mechanism. This is no longer present. She is on the original fully-jointed S F B J wooden composition toddler body with original finish but with some typical age wear, especially on fingers. CONDITION: Overall very good, other than as noted.
