Lot consists of 2 items. (A) Oval US belt plate. 1839 pattern. Standard Civil War belt plate for Union enlisted infantry men. Early war stud-back style with studs and hook in place. CONDITION: Excavated with minor dings and corrosion spots. Good lead fill reverse. Recovered near Winchester, VA. (B) Cartridge box sling belt plate. Excavated at Chancellorsville. CONDITION: Excavated with white corrosion in place, but good die strike. Lead fill reverse with usual ground action. Iron wire attachment loops missing. SR
