Lot consists of: (A) World War II US Army officer's service coat which features insignia of the 112th Infantry Regiment, 28th Infantry Division. The left shoulder features a US Army Western Pacific Forces Patch and the right shoulder features a 28th Infantry Division patch. The lower left arm features a 6th months overseas bar. The clutch back collar insignia reflects that of an infantry officer, and the shoulder insignia features NS Meyer 1/20 10K marked Major's oak leaf clusters and unmarked pin back 112th Infantry Regiment DIs. The jacket is unfortunately unnamed, but with the Distinguished Unit Citation could shed light that the officer served in the Battle of the Bulge, which is where the 28th was awarded their DUC. CONDITION: The jacket is very clean overall and only exhibits a few scattered moth nips. Verdigris is exhibited on the collar insignia which can be cleaned. Scattered stains, especially on the back. Overall good. (B) Double sided metal sign for B Company, 112th Infantry Regiment. The sign most likely hung outside of a National Guard armory and its weathered condition reflects being exposed to the elements while mounted on the side of a building. CONDITION: Colors exhibit fading, side which faced the wall exhibits vibrant colors. Heavy edge wear with rust, bubbling, and paint loss. Various chips and dings. Overall good.
