Lot consists of: (A) 1779 Southern Campaign regional letter from a Col Bland in camp at Charlottesville requesting supplies, etc. from various local garrisons and Virginia military departments. (B) March 1782 petition of prisoner Amos Whitehead under guard to Brig. Gen. Anthony Wayne. Interesting content that deals with a confined prisoner for desertion and "joining the enemy". A long list of his fellow militiamen and officers come to his defense and ask for him to be released and allowed to rejoin the militia. Includes a vintage typed transcription. (C) Letter penned by David Ross, a member of the Annapolis Convention, regarding furnishing supplies to Gen Nathanael Greene's army during the Carolina campaigns. Mentioned is Thomas Jefferson, Gen Gates defeat, and notes that he furnished Greene's army with iron and horseshoes and losses he sustained at the hands of the enemy. CONDITION: All are very fine with the exception of (A) that has some moderate age toned stains on the right-hand side. BRM.
