Lot consists of: (A) US Civil War Model 1860 Cavalry saber marked "U.S. / C.E.W. / 1864" on the obverse ricasso and "MANSFIELD / & / LAMB / FORESTDALE R.I." on the reverse ricasso. CONDITION: The blade exhibits a gray patina with scattered pitting and spotting. Significant edge wear. Brass hilt exhibits a dark patina with dark spots from aging. Wood grip exhibits total leather wrap and wire loss. 2 significant cracks in the grip. Overall fair. (B) US Civil War Model 1860 Cavalry saber marked "U.S. / G.W.C. / 1865" on the obverse ricasso and faint Ames scroll mark on the reverse ricasso. CONDITION: The blade exhibits a chocolate patina with scattered areas of pitting and surface rust. Significant edge wear. Brass hilt exhibits a mustard patina with dark spots from aging. Center swelled wood grip wrapped with brown leather and double twisted brass wire. Significant chip in grip towards pommel. Overall fair. (C) US Civil War Model 1860 Cavalry saber marked "U.S. / L.H.K. / 1864" on the obverse ricasso and faint Ames scroll mark on the reverse ricasso. CONDITION: The blade exhibits a dark gray patina with scattered areas of pitting and surface rust. Significant edge wear. Brass hilt exhibits a dark patina with dark spots from aging and various dings. Wood grip exhibits total leather wrap and wire loss. Pommel is not secured to the sword. Wood grip in 3 pieces with heavy wear. Overall poor. JLD
