Lot consists of: three US cavalry sabers, one with a picket pin attached to the scabbard, two without scabbards, one of which is the scarce experimental 1905/1906 pattern. (A) 1919 dated 1913 pattern saber by Landers, Frary and Clark. US and LF&C with ordnance bomb and 1919 date on either side of the ricasso. Green painted canvas scabbard with black mounts. US 1912 pattern picket pin in its sheath buckled to the scabbard. CONDITION: Very good. Blade grey with dark grey areas, but good edge and point and crisp stampings. Pad in place under guard. No dents or chips to grip or guard. Small rubs to paint on upper mount. Minor abrasions to picket pin sheath. (B) 1918 LF&C 1913 saber. US with inspector's eagle head and No. 11 stamp on obverse ricasso, maker and date on obverse. No scabbard. CONDITION: Grip good. Brown coming up amid black in the guard. Blade poor. Bright mixed with dark grey and rough lower edge. Good point. Pad in place. (C) 1905/1906 experimental saber by Ames. No scabbard. "ASCo. / Ordnance bomb / 1906" on obverse ricasso of blade. "US" on left. Good edge and point. CONDITION: Excellent sharkskin. Wire is one twisted and one plain strand. Interior of guard has brown speckling and rubbing across top half of exterior of guard. Blade is plated. Slight freckling at obverse ricasso. A few lines of plating loss showing grey on obverse high spots. Slightly more and larger on reverse especially near the tip. Three good US cavalry sabers of the pre-World War I and World War I era. (SR)
