Lot consists of (A) 66cm blade. Appears to have been made by a double maker and dated. The 66cm blade with ko midare hamon and ashi of a most attractive pattern. Nakago with double maker and date. The naval mounts of typical pattern. Sword retains original knot. CONDITION: Blade in essentially full bright polish with a few very minor stains, mostly towards the ha. Nakago clean with no corrosion. Mounts retaining much bright original gilt finish. Black rayskin scabbard in excellent condition. Handle wrap is phenomenal. A very fine Japanese naval officer's sword with handmade blade. (B) The 67.7cm one piece water tempered blade with with ko midare hamon. Unsigned nakago with one mekugi-ana. CONDITION: Blade is bright and almost full polish with one microchip approximately 9 - 1/2" back from the boshi. Naval mounts retain some original gilding. Rayskin scabbard in good condition with some separation. Handle crisp with tsukamaki in fine condition. All mounts matching. MZ
