Stunning pale bisque socket head with pale blue threaded paperweight eyes, with slight smile, pierced earlobes, incised on back of head "2". The head swivels on a separate bisque shoulder plate which is attached to a very good quality fully-jointed wooden body with joints at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips and knees. She is attired in what appears to be a period one-piece cream wool walking suit with gold braid trim and wears the original dark blonde mohair wig with tight curls over cork pate. Although not specifically marked, both the facial characteristics and the face and the style of the body would lead one to believe that this is an early Jumeau Poupee. The white cotton and linen undergarments are antique, as are the above the ankle dark brown leather fashion boots that button on the side. On the sole of the boots, there is an impressed mark reading "2 B. V.". CONDITION: Overall quality is superb, with what appears to be original patina to the body. She stands 15" tall.
Condition: (Excellent).
Item Dimensions: 15 - 1/2" x 7 - 1/2" x 6".
