This was the beginning of the New Army & Navy swing-out cylinder double action revolver series that was produced from 1892 to 1907. This example was produced in the third year of production with the readily distinguished Colt gutta percha grips that are branded "COLT 1892" with pony and rosettes. The cylinder shows no signs of burn and has a light drag line. Screws, full trigger including face and the back of the hammer retain virtually all of their high polish Nitre blue finish, showing no wear. A couple of spots of high edge wear, still rates 99.9% of the original factory high polish royal blue finish. Grips are near mint. Mechanics and inside are like new. It would be nearly impossible to find a higher grade example of this scarce model. Really needs an early picture box. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
