This manual vacuum sweeper uses the mechanical energy from the cast iron wheels to move the canvas bellows to draw dust up into the red tin chamber. The cast iron fixture that holds the wood handle is removed to empty the trapped dirt. The rubber is still intact on one of the wheels. The lithograph on the front reads " The Doty Vacuum Sweeper, Mfg by The Doty Mfg Co., Dayton, Ohio". There is also a small marquee at the bottom that reads "Alex Daw, Merchant, Greenock". Circa 1915.
