Round smoothbore barrel stamped “U.S./L.S./P” on left side, near breech. Flat flintlock lockplate with beveled edges and rounded tail section, marked “A. WATERS/MILBURY, M.S./1840.” Typical Model 1836 furniture and swiveling steel ramrod. Walnut stock marked on left side with two inspector’s cartouches. Good condition, all steel components have a grey patina, as they have been cleaned and show traces of chemical cleaning, light pitting overall, some markings worn. Stock good with some nicks and scattered marks from use, small loss above lockplate tail and a few small cracks.
