21" 1890's Era Bru with head incised in back "Bru Jne R 8". Bisque socket head with rosy complexion, very nice blue grey glass stationary eyes, an open mouth with four upper teeth on a semi-mechanical wooden composition articulated body, with joints at elbows, shoulders and knees. Although the stringing is not especially tight, thereby not allowing full intended movement, originally the arms would move out and back with head turning and legs moving back and forth, as if to "throw kisses". In the torso, there is a white leather strip at the waist and originally when properly strung, the legs would kick forward one at a time. CONDITION: Overall very good with slight color rub on upper right forehead and slight one just below that, although completely covered when the wig is in place. At the opening of the crown, just above the right ear, there is a tiny firing split in the rim itself, but does not go into any sort of crack and does not go beyond the rim into the head itself. She wears a red cotton print dress with braid trim, possibly of the period, antique undergarments, antique white leather shoes, and a curly blonde antique mohair wig with bangs over cork pate.

Item Dimensions: Largest: 22" x 10" x 6".
