DSP. An outstanding and highly sought after piece of C. 1940's Porcelain Signage from Harley Davidson Motorcycles showing the iconic Bar & Shield graphic in Harley black & orange colors in "As Found" condition. Produced by Neon Products, Lima, Ohio, this piece is two single sided porcelain signs mounted back to back on their original framing and showing its original lighted steel hood topper as well. This piece was originally displayed at Laugerman's Harley Davidson in York, Pennsylvania and when the dealership was sold the family took the Sign home with them and was recently purchased from the family and consigned to Morphy's CONDITION: Sign is overall outstanding and is in as found, uncleaned condition. Side one shows excellent color & gloss throughout the field showing one chip in the upper right outer field as well as one very light nick in the "A" of Davidson. The remaining field is very clean showing and excellent Bar & Shield graphic with only a minimal amount of light surface scratch and dirt staining that should remove if desired, Grade 8.75. Side two is also excellent showing very good color & gloss throughout the field with four areas of chipping in the inner field as well as some removable dirt markings. Side two shows some minimal surface scratches with some minimal edge wear and overall displays very well, Grade 8.0. Sign shows its original steel lighted hood which displays outstanding showing an excellent age & patina throughout and compliments the signs nicely. The only thing that has been changed at all is a power cord has been added and the piece illuminates perfectly showcasing each sign well. A beautiful piece of original owner Harley Davidson advertising with outstanding display power that rarely comes up for sale.
