Cassius Clay, born 1810 in Kentucky. He was a "Kentucky planter, politician, and emancipationist who worked for the abolition of slavery. He freed the slaves that were handed down as his inheritance from his father". Nine years after his death a slave descendant named his child Cassius Marcelous Clay after him. He was the father of Cassius Clay who later became Muhammad Ali. This group includes two signature cuts mounted with engravings. The fountain pen signatures are 8 out of 10. Both have full LOA From JSA.
